Hpool has announced via their medium page that they will be joining the SlowMist Zone Blockchain security program. This will get them some next generation security capabilities, such as full security review of their software, threat intelligence for their network and the administration of a security bug bounty for their web site and application.
This is excellent news, as a lot of the concern around Hpool and other 3rd party pooling providers has been around security. Because of the nature of the current running off-chain pools (not using the official pooling protocol) there has been a worry that the Hpool software itself would contain either malicious, or accidental security vulnerabilities that can put their users at risk.
The sharing of threat intelligence and bug bounties are common in the public software space, and the bounties at least are likely to bring in security researchers from outside the Chia space to oversee the software we all install on our machines.
The bounties available are in the following image.
