Another Chia fork, called Chives, is on the horizon again promising no pre-farm and no ICO. The gimmick that Chives is claiming is that they will be partially proof of stake for what they are calling “master nodes”.
This one seems a bit different and is bringing something original to the Chia fork space, but time (about 6 days) will tell if it works on launch. Remember, so far the only fork to actually work has been Flax which is a direct copy of Chia. Chives is referring to themselves as Chia Cash, harkening to the Bitcoin Cash fork.
Chives is at least launching with names and faces associated with their team, they have a plan for how the coin will transition over the years with firm dates. From a business perspective it looks quite well organized compared to the others and doesn’t actually look at all sketchy. However, until they launch we are unable to look at the code differences they have made.
Like the rest, I will be checking this out in my test farm and then moving it over the production farm if everything looks on the up and up. June 30th The Chia Plot will be there to take a look at this so check back then.
Update: thanks to an eagle eyed reader in my discord, hendrik, we can see that one of the “real people” behind Chives seems to be using a stock photo for their headshot. And I suspect we will not be seeing “head shot model” in “Sean Weaver”‘s linkedin profile. Not a good look.
