Edit: I want to be clear here this is posted in order to expand the timeline and give a user’s perspective on the issue forks.green had with withdrawals. However it is possible that the source for this information is as biased as forks.green themselves, so this should be taken with a grain of salt. I was able to confirm directly everything I could, including attitudes toward the site from the Chia Fork community but the following is the opinion of a possible competitor and should be taken as such.
After I posted this morning’s revisit of forks.green, which I still stand by, Chia Fork developer of HDDCoin Maxim Goods reached out to me on discord to give me a perspective on the forks.green issue from the perspective of an active fork trader and developer of one of the coins.
Full disclosure, Maxim Goods mentioned in his response to me that HDDCoin and Flora were not being listed on forks.green because of trust issues, however when joining their respective discord channels they have the posat.io developer in a custom role so its possible that there is some Chia Fork drama or competition going on here that I am not aware of. And would like to stay above, to be honest. I am publishing this perspective not because I don’t like forks.green, because I do even if its a little… uhh… green. I am publishing because I think the perspective is valid even if it biased, and it appears fact based to me.
According to Maxim Goods, who is repeating what forks.green users told him during the time of the issue, users noticed an issue with duplicate withdrawals, many time over, on the 7th of August and tried to contact the developer, but didn’t know how and so was redirected to the Chia Fork Russia discord channel. There they were able to notify the forks.green developer, who I have spoken to, who apparently proceeding to turn off withdrawals without any notification or notice on the website but leave deposits active.
Because of the nature and commonness of cryptocurrency schemes, I’m told this threw up big red flags in the Chia Fork community, and the user who had notified Maxim Goods also reached out to Azile of the Chia Fork Trader discord community and they informed the broader community of the issue. Once this started making waves Forks.green turned withdrawals back on on his site again with very little communication. But it was almost two days of no withdrawals and people having a lot of coin locked up on that site.
This incident has left a sour taste for some in the Chia Fork Community, maybe understandably so, but I think we need to cut forks.green some slack here. It sounds here like the biggest issues were communication based, and Forks.green does not speak English nor is he or she an expert communicator from what I can tell. I am going to take this opportunity to get posat.io another chance and see if there is some value there, but no matter how rough around the edges forks.green is in terms of automated trading of Chia Forks it wasn’t just the best option last I looked, but basically the only option outside of peer to peer trades on Discord.
