Last night Hub Culture and Chia hosted the dinner I discussed here, where they talked about the environment, Bitcoin and Chia, Vo2 tokens, and a whole host of other things. Neil Cohen and Gene Hoffman were there representing Chia Network and did a bang up job. Neil looked a bit like someone who had been on his feet talking all day, and I believe he was, but the conversation was very a interesting look into what these teams consider the future of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
I’m going to link the video here, the Chia conversation starts exactly an hour in and I will embed that timestamped at the bottom of this post. Most interesting to me throughout that conversation is the confirmation of a guess Keybase user @f00b4r and I made yesterday about the Ven Oxygen token, or Vo2, and how it will be running on the Chia blockchain. It will be launching, or has launched I guess, running on Hub’s Ultra network but will soon also be running on Chia. I presume this means in a fashion similar to Tether (USDT) runs on Ethereum as an ERC20 token but also on other chains allowing swaps between them. Except here, it would be a CAT. The conversation about Vo2 starts about 10 minutes in and is scattered throughout the conversation.
I will be reaching out to the Chia team for more details about how this will work, and if there will be changes to the official Chia wallet to support the Vo2 token. And also about something said about Chia, I think by the Hub folks, and how it is a “3rd Generation blockchain technology”. I am curious how the teams are breaking that down and where Ethereum and Solana/Cardano each fit.
