Happy New Year to Chia Network and the entire Chia farming community from all of us at The Chia Plot, and me in particular. 2021 was a big year for Chia, with the launch of Mainnet, transactions being enabled and the pooling protocol turned Chia from an idea into one of, if not the, most decentralized cryptocurrencies on the planet. There was the launch of dozens of pools, companies and organizations built around Chia.
Not everything was positive. Chia Network has bullied smaller organizations while attempting to protect their trademarks. There have been bugs, and complaints. The price has fallen a lot since transactions launched. And there is a lot of FUD being thrown around because of those things.
However, Chia Network has a plan. And a big part of that plan will be realized in 2022, with the big projects announced towards the end of 2021 either turning into something real or not. The next 12 months will be make or break for Chia Network, and by extension everyone who is building in this ecosystem – including our team here.
I would like to thank the team for everything they have done for this site in 2021. With special thanks to Ryan (the fo0d), Speedmann, Grizzo, and Hendrik who have all helped produce the content and manage the discord server. Without them the site would not exist as it does. I would also like to thank Digital Spaceport of YouTube for all the help he has given me understanding how WordPress works. A lot of the improvement to the site I have planned in the coming year are directly because of assistance he has given me, and I hope that will continue.
I would also like to thank you, and all the readers of the site. Without the readers I would definitely not be doing this, and the vibrant Chia community makes it truly enjoyable. Thank you to a great year and here’s to an even better one. And to the readers to whom I still owe coins from the Christmas giveaway, they are coming. My script choked out and had a bunch of errors due to me running it on my Surface Pro so I am going through everything and will complete those transfers, definitely by the end of the weekend.
