From the always competent Freddie Coleman of ChiaExplorer comes another invaluable tool for the Chia community – TailDatabase.com. Due to the nature of how Chia Asset Tokens – CATs – work, there is a lot to how they are minted and the rules they operate under that is not visible directly to users. This information is stored in the Token and Asset Issuance Limitations (TAIL). Clever, right? Well, without access to those TAILs it can be difficult for a new user to know what they are dealing with. Enter TailDatabase.com
Right now there are “verified CATs”, tokens that appear already labelled in the Chia Light Wallet, and “unverified CATs” which do not carry any information about them inherently. What they do have is an Asset ID that uniquely identifies them on the Chia blockchain. As soon as this was announced it was obvious that the Chia community needed a trusted 3rd party repository of CATs. And there is no more trusted 3rd party than Freddie, in my opinion.
Going forward, and until there is a more definitive resource developed, I will be using TailDatabase.com as the authoritative resource for CAT determinations, just as ChiaExplorer and XCHScan have been the authoritative resources for transactions on the blockchain. This is a truly useful tool to me, and to the community and I urge anyone minting a CAT to use the Add TAIL functionality on the site to get theirs into the database.
Hello,
Any information if there are plans to support forks, too?
