With the CAT Cambrian Explosion going on and the loss of focus from Chia Forks to Chia Asset Tokens, a number of the less well populated Fork communities are starting to disappear. But that leaves a pretty significant issue for the owners of those mostly worthless tokens – what to do with them? Well, in comes a very clever service by the name of “SporkSwap”.
Instead of just describing SporkSwap in my own words, I am going to lift their about page whole cloth and let it do the talking.

In speaking with the developer, BigJoe, he made it pretty clear that his motivation was an overall agreement with Bram Cohen about the utility of the Chia Forks – that they have very little. And he thinks that with the advent of CATs the people who spent the last 6 months farming those fork blockchains might be hesitant to just abandon them if they didn’t get something in return. So he is giving them something in return, something he considers equally valuable to all the dead fork coins – a CAT with no inherent value.
BigJoe is hoping that Spork acts as a sort of gateway into CAT trading for people that are holding fork coins that haven’t panned out. He is hoping to create a situation where someone can trade into Spork and then trade into the rest of the CAT ecosystem from there.
I tried the service out and traded 25 STAI for 5.168 SPORK through the web portal and it worked really well. Its not a smart contract or anything, but a submission against the website that waits for your fork transaction then sends you CATs automatically. It was pretty slick I do have to say. And totally worth it.
What happens to the fork coins? Are they burned or just collected by spork owner?
Sporky Joe takes them to forks.green and trades them for Chia. Everyone wins.
most likely just abandoned like many other peojects
